Return to the Century 21
Sorry for the absence, been keeping my self busy with different things. Nevertheless, today we are returning to the World's fair held in Seattle in 1962. Going under the title Century 21, this is one of my favorite expositions next to the one that was held in New York two years later. Here are a couple of photos from it to better illustrate my point.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Seattle World's Fair, tour many of the major exhibits, and smart enough to keep all of the literature, postcards and brochures from it, which I still have. Living in the house of the future would have been quite something. It's too bad the future didn't turn out the way the Fair envisioned.

P.S. Chris,
At least try the martini recipe. As fans of a forward looking era, we should be at least a little willing to try something new.

Lucky you Robert! Must have been quite the thing! You should scan some of the stuff you have in your collection and I can publish it on the blog if that pleases you?
That Martini recipe does sound a bit scary hehe. And no I am not a fan of moving forward as you might have noticed from my blog? I like to go backwards in time ;-)

Wow. That looks awesome. I wasn't even alive yet when this happened. I bet it was amazing. I've always loved the look and style of these older world fairs.

i grew up near seattle, and the space needle and seattle center have always been at the top of my list of favorite things about the city. i wish i'd been alive to go to the '62 world's fair.
