Fly Eastern
Here in Sweden we just skipped spring, summer and autumn and went directly back to winter again, so why not take a trip to the sun with Eastern Airlines? Here are six one-minute vintage commercials with none other than Brazilian bossa legend Astrud Gilberto on vocals. The jingles were recorded in the late 1960s and styled in different variations. Taken from a promotion 7" record intended for their employees only, but now offered to the Ultra Swank readers as well.
"The soaring spirit of the New Eastern...the lyrical beauty of an aircraft in flight...the exalted triumph of man's conquest of the skies - all these have been joyously captured in the melodies on this record. My name is Chris and I live in Sweden. I love the 50s and 60s lifestyle and design. I am very fascinated by the architecture of the period too, for instance googie, modernism, the work of Joseph Eichler, John Lautner and Arne Jacobsen's international style. I have a large archive with space-age, library, bossa, cocktail, retro soundtracks and exotica music. I also believe that things were better in the old days.

Where in the world did you find this? Thank you so much for sharing it. I love Eastern Airlines, the ride they used to sponsor in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World, 'If You Had Wings,' was one of my absolutely favorite things about that park.

You have to wait for 40 seconds or something like that before the download link appears. Yeah, annoying but it's a free service. I will bring my camera with me if you bring yours to that Mad Men panel Jane! ;-)

I did bring my camera but i decided not to take pics. What a loser! Too many people gathering around, kind of annoying also it was getting late & i was tired. sleepy & kinda hungry.

Aww, that's too bad really. Wouldn't mind seeing some photos of Peggy or any of the other female actors. Anyways, I am here in Skåne now. Guess that means I shouldn't take any photos here 'cause you didn't huh? *jokingly*

Yeah only the female actors since the hunk (don't quote me on that) Don Draper wasn't there hehe. Nah seriously would have been cool seeing some photos from the whole event, maybe next time eh? :)
The weather down here is really depressing right now, snow has melted finally but the landscapes look incredibly boring. Will try and get a couple of decent photos though. Can't wait for summer!

Nothing wrong with the download link. You first have to enter the characters you see in the box and press ok and then wait for 45 seconds for the download link to appear (there is a ticker telling how long you have waited).

Excellent stuff! I loved Eastern Airlines as well. They flew a lot of the Boeing 727 Whisperjets, which were the coolest planes around.

this is a such remarkable find! The link works perfectly, thank you, but does anyone (Chris or anyone else) know what happened to track #7? It is listed on the original album art as "music to fly Eastern by", but isn't in the file. Thanks again for this marvelous gem!

You don't have to download any toolbar, just enter the three letters and wait for 45 seconds for the download button to appear. Click on it and your download should start automatically. Just tried it my self and it's working.
