The Nutty Professor

This Jerry Lewis movie from 1963 is a real classic. It was scored by Walter Scharf, with additonal songs by Les Brown and Jimmy McHugh. The score is still unreleased so I've decided to record the music from the 5.1 mix on the DVD and release it here. The complete score will be added soon (when it's done). Today I'm bringing you a sneak preview of the score by releasing the first song of the soundtrack. Enjoy!

Have you ever completed this? If so I'd love to hear it. I'm especially interested in the song played at the Senior Prom in which the Jerry Lewis "professor" character dances by himself. Do you know the name of this song? It's an instrumental and I'd love to hear it. Thanks

Not yet. I have a couple of songs ready, but this is a long process and I will probably not be able to finish this before Christmas.

The song that Jerry Lewis dances alone to at the prom is called "Leap Frog".

I like your site; keep fighting the "good fight"!

Gloubiboulga, nice job! I have been working on it on and off (mostly off) for the past year. I have 7 tracks so far. I plan to extract 12 more tracks and add a bonus track or two.

Maybe I could include some of the tracks you have already extracted? I am guessing they are in stereo? Let me know.

Hi,
The Nutty Professor is one of my all-time favorite movies! I've been looking around for the soundtrack on CD but never found it. I particularly like the song that Buddy and Stella are slow dancing to at the 'Purple Pit.' It's the scene right after Buddy drinks the "Alaskan Polar Bear." Is this a Walter Scharf creation?

Deb, I think that all songs in the movie except two or three songs were written by Walter Scharf. The ones being performed by Les Brown at the sock hop were written by him I think. The piano piece that is performed after the 'Alaskan Polar Bear' is definitely a Scharf song.
